Not required, but recommended on weekends and holidays. Check the dock board for live availability. If it says "ready," you can walk up to the dock and we’ll get you going in a few minutes.
We watch the forecast. If there’s a storm coming, we’ll close rentals and refund any reservations for that window. If you’re already on the water and weather rolls in, head straight back to the dock — no penalty.
No minimum age, but anyone under 12 needs to be with an adult in a tandem kayak or canoe. PFDs come in every size including infant. Ask at the counter.
Kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes can go anywhere in Clearwater Lake. If the wind picks up past the point, hug the shoreline on the way back— the open water gets choppy fast. We’ll flag the forecast at check-in.
Yes. Spring-fed, crystal clear, you can see down 30 to 40 feet on a calm day. It’s one of only a handful of lakes like it in the world.
Normal wear and tear is on us. If something’s seriously damaged or we have to fish a lost paddle out of the lake, there’s a damage fee — we’ll go over the short list when you check in. Nothing sneaky.
